Are any of the components of Pique Performance Supplements restricted or banned by WADA or any other professional/Olympic athletic regulatory bodies?+
No. None of the ingredients in any Pique Performance products appear on any lists of banned substances for competition. We are currently in the process of having all of our products certified by Informed Sport for added reassurance.
Do any Pique Performance Supplements contain stimulants?+
There are no stimulants in any of our products. Aside from dehydrating properties, we feel that stimulants actually inhibit the athlete’s ability to properly optimize their performance as continued use creates the need for higher quantities to even feel perceived effects.
What sets Pique Performance Products apart from those currently on the market?+
Developed by scientists, not businessmen/women, the components are backed by peer reviewed research, but most importantly, in efficacious concentrations of optimal proportions. Where, for example, one supplement will tout the benefits of Leucine, yet only contain 250mg, a minuscule amount, Pique has done the research to determine that 5-10 GRAMS are what is needed to live up to that claim. It isn’t the cheapest way to formulate a performance supplement, but it’s the best way! Pique only uses HPLC verified ingredients and is manufactured in an FDA-approved facility in the USA adhering to the very stringent GMP guidelines required for certification.
What sort of research was involved in your formulation development?+
Pique scientists utilized validated measures and endpoints to determine efficacy rather than mere subjective feedback which can often be simply a placebo effect when assessing a drug or supplement. It's more about performance output rather than perceived feelings of well-being or strength. In addition, heart rate variability and sleep pattern data helped to determine levels of oxidative stress of the body while training or competing in order for us to quantitate what formulation would elicit full recovery based on these parameters.
Are the components of Pique Performance products safe/non-toxic at these levels?+
The molecules of these compounds were chosen due to the safety profile at these high concentrations. For example, using Malic Acid, the Dexarotatory (D) version of the compound is not only inactive, but it is toxic at high amounts. Rather than using the cheaper racemic version of Malic Acid (a lab-created combination of (D) and Levarotatory (L) Malic Acid) that is found in every other supplement, Pique uses only the (L) molecule which is not only safe at high doses, but is the only one providing benefit and the only form found in nature!
What is a FDA registered Facility+
FDA stands for the Food and Drug Administration, a government agency responsible for the safety of food, dietary supplements, human drugs, vaccines, blood products and other biologicals, medical devices, radiation-emitting electronics, cosmetics, veterinarian products and tobacco products being sold or manufactured in the United States. The FDA also inspects and enforces regulations related to these industries. Organizations that manufacture, re-pack or re-label products in the aforementioned industries must register with the FDA, with the exception of cosmetics, where registration is voluntary. The registration process varies dependent on the industry but generally involves an annual registration in which organizations are required to list all drugs being manufactured, prepared, propagated, compounded, or processed for commercial distribution in the U.S. Inspection results for FDA registered organizations are available on the FDA website. Pique Performance products are manufactured in Rival Labs which is situated in Dallas, Texas, United States of America, and is a registered FDA Facility. ** The word Rival Lab – Link to their website (http://rivallabs.com/)
When I took PreGame and RePair, I noticed a strange tingling sensation throughout my body. It made me nervous. Is this normal?+
This is nothing to be concerned about and is completely normal. The sensation is called paraesthesia, and is a well-documented occurrence when the user is deficient in the component’s metabolite, Carnosine. Healthy people generally are not deficient for everyday existence; however, athletes and those requiring more to build muscle, tend to be deficient due to greater demand. Carnosine is necessary for muscle and brain development, and is the byproduct of beta-Alanine. Over repeated use, this effect will go away. It is in no way dangerous. Enjoy the tingle!
Is there lactose in Re*Gain Choco Burst?+
No, none of the products contain lactose so it is safe to use if lactose intolerant.
Why is Re*Charge only available in a 20 serving tub and not a 30 serving tub like the other products?+
Re*Charge is 20 servings because it is 72g per serving, the mass per scoop is larger than the other products. 30 servings of Re*Charge would not fit into the 30 serving size tub.
